Abstracts

We invite for contributions within all aspects of life cycle based approaches
The 2014 NorLCA Symposium in Iceland invites all participants to learn, share and discuss recent developments, in tools that form the core of life-cycle approaches, as well as successes and barriers towards their implementation. The programme is composed of 10 cross-cutting themes together with a selection of application areas relevant to the Northern regions:

The symposium will deal with the following cross-cutting themes: Life Cycle Thinking, Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Footprinting, Life Cycle Management, Life Cycle Costing, Social aspects in the life cycle, Sustainability Education and LCA Literacy, LCA in Policy, Sustainability Assessments, LCA and Resilience.

The symposium will focus on the following application areas and we ask contributors to submit abstracts within these:

Management of resources in the Arctic Industrial Symbiosis and Circular Economy
Energy Waste management
Built environment Life Cycle thinking in policy making
Food industries Life Cycle thinking and communication
Fisheries Sustainability education
Transport, logistics and electromobility

Abstract submission for oral/poster presentations opens 15 May 2014 and closes 1 September 2014
Please prepare your abstract in a MS Office Word document. You may use this template for preparing your submission, which shall include the following information:

  • Title, maximum 150 characters including space
  • Abstract, maximum 300 words
  • Keywords, maximum 4
  • Information about the authors, including names, affiliations and contact details of the presenting authors

Abstracts not meeting these requirements will not be eligible to the review process. Corresponding authors will be notified by 5 September 2014.

Platform and Poster Presentations
The symposium program includes invited keynote presentations as well as platform and poster presentations. The official language of the meeting is English.
Instructions for those interested in contributing to symposium proceedings will be given later.

We invite companies to submit industrial case presentations
Companies wishing to present a case are invited to submit a brief abstract.
